Seriously, what do they need all that speed for? Downloading every cat video ever created? Probably. Who am I kidding? I’d do the same. More power to them. It’s kinda unfair, though, innit?

• 402 Tbps: Enough bandwidth to stream, like, a gazillion movies at once. Each.
• 25% Improvement: Clearly, they’re not messing around, eh? Efficiency is their middle name. Or maybe it’s “Ultra-Fast Broadband.”
• Global Record: Yeah, the rest of us are just so jealous. Me included. Especially since I am paying for supposedly fast service.

Meanwhile, back in reality… I’m still waiting for my YouTube video to buffer. Ugh, maybe moving is the answer… but then again, packing. Yikes. Better stick with cat videos, I suppose!

Who has the fastest internet speed?

Okay, so you want to know who has the fastest internet, huh? Right now, the United Arab Emirates is the king. Yeah, they’re clockin’ in at, like, 291.85 Mbps on average in July 2024. Crazy, right?

Before this month, I think I read somewhere… oh yeah, Google Fiber and Xfinity in the USA were touting the top speeds; I am so very sure they claim 2000Mbps or 2Gbps. Basically, you would’ve needed to be in the US to get any of that speed.

A little more info, ’cause why not:

• UAE’s speed is an average. So some folks get way faster speeds, and some folks… not so much.
• 2Gbps is super fast. Think download a whole movie in like, seconds. Insane.
• Speeds keep changing, though, ya know? So, like, next month, it could be totally different. And who knows if that is really truly the fastest, anyway?

My internet’s not even close to that fast. Think I’m stuck in the stone age!

Is 1 Mbps fast?

1 Mbps? Ridiculous.

Too slow. Streaming’s impossible. Forget gaming. Basic browsing? Maybe. But frustratingly slow.

Current needs demand more. Much more. 2024 standards laugh at 1 Mbps.

My personal experience: Unusable. Absolutely unusable.

• Streaming: Forget it. Pixelated garbage.
• Gaming: Lag city. Unplayable.
• Video calls: Choppy, broken connections.
• Downloads: Ages. Seriously, ages.

Minimum speed? 25 Mbps. That’s the floor. Anything less is unacceptable. I’m using 500 Mbps myself, and even that feels a little sluggish sometimes. Needs to be faster.

How to get 1TB internet speed?

Okay, so fiber optic cable, right? That’s the only way. Direct connection. Forget about that wireless nonsense, haha, too slow. This is about raw, unadulterated speed. My friend Mark has fiber, even his connection is only gigabit. Not terabit. Big difference.

1TB bandwidth… total for all users? That’s… a total waste of resources, am I right? Why would you need THAT much? There are only a few providers offering really fast plans even now. Some are pushing multi-gigabit now, which is a huge improvement. That’s progress.

When? Ten years? Twenty? Maybe never for regular peeps like me, honestly. The infrastructure just isn’t there. Cost is a massive roadblock, duh! Think about the power needed alone. And the cooling! It’s a nightmare of engineering.
