How do I add random people on Line?

Ugh, adding random people on Line? That’s tricky, isn’t it? I mean, who does that, really? Unless you’re, like, trying to build some massive Line group for a flash mob or something… which, honestly, sounds kinda chaotic and amazing.

But okay, let’s say you do need to add someone you don’t know directly. The easiest way, hands down, is through a mutual friend. Remember that time I was trying to connect with Sarah’s cousin who’s a pastry chef? A real pastry chef, not just someone who bakes brownies once a year. Sarah had to do this whole thing… She opened up our chat, you know, the one where we’re mostly sending cat videos? Then she tapped that little plus sign – it’s always hidden, isn’t it? – and found the “Contact” option. Then, from there, she selected “LINE friend” or something like that. It’s all very intuitive, once you figure it out, I guess. Anyway, she found her cousin’s profile and tapped “Share.” Poof! Cousin’s contact was suddenly in my chat list. So yeah, that’s the official, slightly convoluted, method.

Basically, you need a friendly go-between. It’s less “adding a random person” and more “getting a friend to do the introducing” which feels a lot less creepy, right? Otherwise… well, I’m not even sure how you would do it. Maybe some super shady, unofficial method? I wouldn’t recommend it. Stick to the mutual friend approach. It’s safer, less awkward, and way less likely to get you into trouble.
