Okay, so you wanna ditch Grab PayLater? I kinda get it. It can be a slippery slope, trust me.

To cansel, you gotta hit up their in-app help. Bascially you gotta message them via the Help Center in the app and ask them to close your account. Sounds easy enough, right?

There’s a catch, tho! You can’t have any outstanding balance. All debts must be settled, everything. Makes perfect sense.

I remember back in December 2022, I almost forgit to pay mine. It was a close one, whew. Like 20 bucks for some late night nasi lemak. Avoid that stress, settle up first.

Seriously, just go to “Help Center” and type “cancel PayLater.” A chatbot will guide you with the process. I mean, I think? Did it once but don’t remember.

Don’t be like me, and wait ’til the last minute. Dealing with customer service can be a pain. It’s much easier if you’re organised, not like yours truly ha. Get it done and move on. Good riddance.

Request Verified. Do they really need to verify? Feels like a waste.
Deactivated. Gone, I guess. Less debt, more nothing?

Funny, because I’m trying to deactivate more than just a payment method. It’s also for me, less temptation. Less of those late-night impulse buys I can’t afford anyway. Thinking of deleting my old FB account too.

Okay, so Grab PayLater… ugh.

It was October 2024, right after my birthday. I was in Jakarta, frantically trying to buy batik for my mom. Got carried away at Tanah Abang market, used PayLater like a fool, and totally forgot about it.

Then, bam! Late fee slapped on my account. I was shocked, like, “Seriously, Grab?” They sent me a bunch of emails and notifications. Annoying, to say the least.

First, the Late Fee: Obvious, right?
Next, Account Suspension: Couldn’t use Grab anymore. No rides, no food, nothing. Major inconvenience.
Eventually, Debt Collectors: This part I dread. I’ve heard whispers of them calling. I’d probably just change my number.

They said, if I didn’t pay, they’d report me to credit bureaus. I’m not sure if they actually did, since I paid up eventually, after selling some of my concert tickets (regretted that, btw).
