Five days is a great starting point for Da Nang. You'll have ample time to visit top attractions like the Marble Mountains, Ba Na Hills, and beaches. Extend your stay to a week if you plan on taking day trips to Hoi An or Hue.

5 Days in Da Nang: Enough Time?

Five days in Da Nang? Totally doable. Saw loads in that time myself.

Hit Ba Na Hills, that crazy Golden Bridge. Spent a whole day there, honestly. Worth it.

Dragon Bridge, of course. Saw the fire show – Saturday night at 9pm. Cool stuff.

My Khe Beach, chilled there for a bit. Sun was strong. Like, REALLY strong. Got a bit burnt, actually. Early June it was.

Went to Marble Mountain too. Those stairs, man. So many stairs.

Ate some amazing street food. Banh Xeo, like, everywhere. Delicious. Only about 20,000 VND, too. Crazy cheap.

So yeah, five days felt pretty good for Da Nang itself. Wanted to see Hoi An though, so hopped on a bus. Only cost 30,000 VND. Half hour ride, easy peasy. Spent two days there.

Is 5 days enough in Vietnam?

Five days? Vietnam deserves more. Barely a taste. Hanoi’s chaos, a blur. Saigon’s heat, a fleeting memory. Forget meaningful connection. Surface scratch. Choose North or South. Not both. My ’23 trip? Focused on the Mekong Delta. Floating markets. Durian overload. Worth it.

  • Hanoi: Old Quarter frenzy. Street food heaven. Ha Long Bay requires a separate trip. Minimum two days.
  • Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City): War Remnants Museum. Cu Chi Tunnels sobering. Nightlife electric.
  • Hoi An: Tailor shops. Lanterns. Touristy, yet charming. Skippable if time-constrained.
  • Mekong Delta: Can Tho. Cai Rang floating market. Life on the water.
  • Phu Quoc: Beaches. Resorts. Relaxation, not culture.

Five days is a teaser. Pick one region. Experience it fully. Otherwise, you’re just ticking boxes. My passport? Full of Vietnam stamps. Still not enough.

Is it worth going to Vietnam for 5 days?

Five days? Insufficient.

Vietnam’s vast. You’ll scratch the surface.

  • Hanoi’s charm fleeting.
  • Ha Long Bay, a postcard. Breathtaking, yes. But fleeting.
  • Saigon’s chaos. Intense. Five days won’t tame it.

The experience? Superficial. A teaser.

Worth it? Depends. On your definition of “worth.” A whirlwind. Not a deep dive.

My opinion? Extend your trip. Two weeks, minimum. Otherwise, it’s a rushed snapshot. A pretty picture, quickly fading. Consider this: my 2023 trip? Three weeks wasn’t enough.

The northern rice paddies? Stunning. But you’ll barely glimpse them. The Mekong Delta? A fleeting glance.

In short: Go for longer. Five days? A cruel joke. A tease. A disappointment. Unless, of course, you simply want a fleeting glimpse; a colorful memory.

How much would a 5 day trip to Vietnam cost?

Vietnam, five days. Budget around $340. Minimum.

  • Accommodation: Expect $20/night. Depends.
  • Food: $15/day. Street food is cheaper. Obviously.
  • Transport: $10 daily. Buses, motorbikes. Be brave.
  • Activities: $23/day. Ha Long Bay? Phu Quoc? Varies. My dad loves Ha Long Bay. Always.
  • Miscellaneous: $5. Incidentals. Always.

Double it. Safety net. You’ll thank me.

Real Costs Exposed

  • Flights aren’t included. Big hit. Shop around.
  • Visas are extra. Don’t forget. Seriously.
  • Tours inflate costs. Research well. Avoid rip-offs. Avoid!
  • Shopping? Could bankrupt you. Silk beckons. Be strong.
  • Bargaining essential. Otherwise, fool. Haggling’s a sport.

Luxury explodes budget. Obvious really. Hostels cut costs. Choices, choices. My ex always chose hostels. Ugh.

Is 6 days enough for Vietnam?

Six days in Vietnam? Honey, that’s like trying to experience the Louvre in an afternoon. Ambitious, but likely leaving you wanting more… much more.

You’ll have to pick a region, like choosing your favorite child, except way less guilt involved, hopefully! North, Central, or South, decide where your heart (or stomach) pulls.

  • North: Hanoi’s chaos, Ha Long Bay’s majesty. Think motorbikes and mystical waters. Plus, pho—always a plus!
  • Central: Hoi An’s tailor shops, Hue’s imperial vibes. Imagine vibrant lanterns and ancient secrets whispered in the wind.
  • South: Saigon’s buzz, Mekong Delta’s floating markets. Picture bustling cities and river life, like a watery version of Times Square.

Frankly, six days gets you a taste. Consider it a trailer for the full movie that will happen later. Seriously, you need to go back! I lost my sunglasses there, and need to pick them up.

But wait, there is more to Vietnam!

  • Foodie Heaven: Spring rolls, banh mi, pho – oh my! Prepare to loosen your belt and tighten your grip on your chopsticks. I once tried to deep fry ice cream there, the horror!
  • History Buff’s Paradise: Temples, tombs, and tales of emperors and wars. Every corner has a story, some more embellished than others (trust me).
  • Nature Lover’s Dream: From mountains to beaches, Vietnam has it all. Just watch out for the monkeys; they’re adorable thieves!
