What happens if you don't select your seat?
If you don't select your airline seat, one will be assigned to you at check-in. This is usually a random, unclaimed seat. Choosing a seat in advance ensures you sit where you prefer, especially important for travelers with specific needs or those wanting to sit together.
What happens if you dont choose a seat when booking travel?
Ugh, flying. So last July, flying from Denver to Boston – I totally forgot to pick a seat on Southwest. No biggie, right? Nope. Checked in online, and they stuck me in the middle seat, row 37. Nightmare.
Seriously cramped. Next time, paying extra for a window seat is worth it. The extra legroom’s a myth, but at least I can lean against something.
Basically, if you don’t pre-select, airlines randomly assign. Could be great, could be awful. Prepare for the worst. Learn from my mistake.
