Hanoi airport, 2024. Man, the heat hit me like a wall. Stepping out, I immediately saw a bunch of taxis. Yellow ones, mostly. Lots of them. Seriously, a whole fleet. I needed to get to my hotel in the Old Quarter.

I wasn’t sure about the meters though. Some guy tried to haggle with me, before I even got my luggage. Total scam artist. I dodged him. Found a taxi with a meter clearly visible, thank goodness. Whew. Relief.

It was a bit of a ride, traffic was insane. Crazy motorbikes everywhere. Seriously, a chaotic mess. But the driver was good. Navigated it like a boss.

The meter worked perfectly. I paid exactly what it showed. Around 300,000 Vietnamese Dong, I think. Not bad for the distance. I felt safe. The taxi was clean.
