Sleeper Bus Prices in Vietnam?

Okay, so sleeper buses in Vietnam, huh?

Been there, done that. Man, those journeys…

Sleeper bus ticket prices in Vietnam vary. Shorter trips (few hundred km) generally cost 200,000 VND to 400,000 VND. Longer routes like Hanoi to HCMC are around 900,000 VND to 1,100,000 VND.

Lemme tell ya about my trip from Nha Trang to Hoi An. I think it was June last year. Paid maybe 250,000 VND? Yeah, somthin like that.

It felt like forever. Plus, the AC was either on full blast or nonexistent. No in between! Froze then sweated. Ah, memories… not all great ones, lol.

Seriously, price depends on the company too! Some are def’ more comfy than others. Worth paying a little extra, trust me. Get a better seat, fewer roosters maybe. Just kidding (sort of!).

Do sleeper busses in Vietnam have toilets?

Night. Quiet. Thinking about Vietnam… those buses. Remember the one to Hanoi? No toilet. Ugh.

Stopped a lot. Middle of nowhere sometimes. Not… ideal. Definitely not like the nicer ones. Those had toilets. Small. But, there.

  • Most budget sleeper buses: No toilets. Think long rides, frequent stops.
  • Some higher-end sleepers: Toilets onboard. Usually at the back.

Remember that trip with Mai? 2023. Lunar New Year. Packed bus. No toilet. She wasn’t happy. Long trip. Da Lat to Nha Trang. Beautiful scenery. But… the bus.

  • Bring hand sanitizer. Those roadside stops… not always the cleanest.
  • Pack tissues/wet wipes. Just in case. Trust me.

That time… Stopped at a roadside place. Dark. Only a hole in the ground. No light. Bugs everywhere. Not a fun memory. Makes you appreciate the buses with toilets, even the small ones. Ugh. The things we remember…

How much luggage is allowed on the Dream sleeper bus?

Ugh, Dream sleeper bus. Took it last month. Bangalore to Chennai. Nightmare. My giant purple suitcase. Definitely bigger than their stupid 70x50x30. They gave me grief. So annoying. Had to pay extra. 20 kg limit? Yeah right. Like anyone actually weighs their bag. My backpack, stuffed full. No way it was under 5 kg. They didn’t even look. Just wanted my money. Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus. Chaos. Midnight. Never again. Hot. Sticky. Sleeper? Ha! Barely slept.

  • 20 kg suitcase limit. Ridiculous.
  • 70x50x30 cm. Good luck with that.
  • 5 kg carry-on. Joke.
  • 40x30x20 cm for carry-on. Seriously?
  • CMBT. Worst bus station ever.
  • Bangalore to Chennai route. Avoid Dream sleeper.
  • Extra charges. They’ll get you. Watch out.
  • Purple suitcase. My poor baby. Scratched now.

My back still aches. Stupid bus.

How much luggage is allowed on the bus in Vietnam?

Dust motes dancing in sunbeams… the bus, a metal beast sighing. Twenty kilos. Twenty kilos… a lifetime packed into the hold. Is it enough? It has to be.

Dimensions, they matter. Five-zero by three-zero by eight-zero. Numbers, cold. Dreams constrained. This is the limit.

Fifty by thirty by eighty… images flicker. My grandmother’s pho, early morning streets, distant mountains, all fading, reduced to those measurements.

The weight, a story told. What am I carrying? Hope? Memories? Twenty kilograms is the answer.

How big a bag can you carry-on bus?

Ugh, this bus trip to Denver last week. My stupid duffel. Barely fit. Stuck it in the overhead bin myself. Sweating. Denver in August. Thought they’d say something. Thing was crammed. 55x35x75cm. Close enough. They didn’t care. Lady next to me, tiny purse. Made me feel worse. My bad. Should’ve measured first. 20 kg limit. Mine was maybe 15. Mostly books. Heavy books. Dumb.

  • Size limit: 50x30x80cm (Width x Depth x Height)
  • Weight limit: 20kg
  • My bag: 55x35x75cm, ~15kg.
  • Denver bus trip, August 2024. Greyhound.
  • Almost didn’t fit.
  • Overhead bin struggle.

Can I carry luggage in bus?

Weight limit: 10 kg. Dimensions: 30x40x60 cm. Bus, not a cargo ship. Rules exist. They bind. Your bag, your problem. Space is finite. So is patience. Travel light. Less baggage, less burden. Metaphorical, too. Mine is a 20L pack. Works fine. Enough for laptop, charger, few shirts. Good to go. Destination unimportant. Journey matters. Or does it? Who knows. Check the specific bus company policy. Sometimes they vary. Slightly. Irrelevant in the grand scheme.

  • 10 kg weight limit: More than that? Ship it.
  • 30x40x60 cm dimensions: Measure twice, whine once.
  • Check bus company policy: Fine print hides truths.
