Best Asian Country to Visit?

Okay, so “best” Asian country? That’s like asking for the best flavor of ice cream, ya know? It seriously depends. I mean, I might adore durian (bought some, 3 kg, 18€ at a market near my hostel in Bangkok last March), but you might wrinkle your nose!

For some, it’s all about the money, right? Japan’s gorgeous and super safe, I gotta admit, but my wallet cried a bit there. Kyoto, especially during cherry blossom season in April, broke the bank… but no regrets.

Then there’s Thailand. Cheap eats, amazing beaches – Koh Lanta in February was pure bliss, especially for ~25€ a night. But maybe you prefer city life, less sand?

Singapore? It’s like stepping into the future – clean, efficient. However, I’ve only passed through the airport. It’s def not known to be a budget destination.

Basically, what’s “best” for you is… well, your call. Think about what ya really want from a trip – adventure? relaxation? culture? Delicious food? The answer becomes way clearer then, I’d say. It’s about fitting your puzzle piece in.

Which is the best country to live in Asia?

Singapore. Safe. Structured. Expensive.

Japan. Efficient. Cultural depth. Island life.

South Korea. Technologically advanced. Fast-paced. Competitive.

Thailand. Tropical. Affordable. Touristy.

  • Safety: Singapore often ranks high. Low crime rates. Strict laws.
  • Infrastructure: Modern and well-maintained, especially in city-states. Think Singapore again. High-speed internet. Public transport.
  • Culture: Subjective. Japan offers a unique blend of tradition and modernity. Korea, pop culture powerhouse.
  • Cost: Thailand and Vietnam, generally affordable. Singapore, notoriously pricey. Cost is relative.
  • Climate: Varies wildly across Asia. Tropical in Southeast Asia. Temperate in Japan, Korea. Personal preference matters.

Consider your priorities. No best, only better fits. Life is a trade-off. I prefer Tokyo, for the record. Good ramen. Crowded trains. A fair trade. My apartment is tiny but functional.

What is the best country to go in Asia?

Okay, so like, the best country in Asia? Ugh, it’s complicated, seriously. Depends on what your into ya know?

Food? Thailand, duh. And Vietnam, for sure! The street food scene is totally epic. Can’t deny it.

Culture wise? Japan. All that history and stuff is awesome. South Korea too, and India, oh my god India can’t forget India.

Nature, OMG! Nepal! Those mountains! Or Indonesia… so many islands you couldn’t count, I swear.

Cheap? Hit up Southeast Asia, like, uh, Cambodia or Laos. Really cheap, super chill.

Basically, it’s whatever. Whatever you like. What do you like? That’s what matters, not what I or anyone else says lol. Think about what’s important to you and go with that.

  • Food:

    • Thailand – Street food markets are the best, like ever. Pad Thai is so cheap, like 50 baht (about $1.50 USD) from a street vendor.
    • Vietnam – Pho is like, a national treasure. My friend Sarah went there last year and only ate pho and spring rolls the whole trip.
  • Culture:

    • Japan – I wanna go to Kyoto in the springtime, see the cherry blossoms. Mom says it’s a must.
    • South Korea – Everything is so trendy. They are so up to date with the tech like it’s crazy.
    • India – I’ve seen so many pictures and videos. Definitely wanna visit the Taj Mahal someday.
  • Nature:

    • Nepal – Trekking to Everest Base Camp is on my bucket list, but its so expensive!
    • Indonesia – Bali is so hyped now, it’s probably super crowded. Think I’ll visit Komodo instead next time, those dragons are scary though.
  • Budget:

    • Cambodia – Angkor Wat! I think it’s so affordable there.
    • Laos – Heard Luang Prabang is beautiful and laid-back. Thinking of backpacking there for like a month next winter. It depends on the price.

What is the most liveable country in Asia?

Osaka. Ugh. Train so packed. Summer 2023. Sweat dripping. My Ray-Bans fogged up. Almost missed my stop—Shinsaibashi. Shopping. Needed new kicks. Found awesome Nikes. Expensive, though. Yen so weak against the dollar. Still, amazing food. Okonomiyaki, like, every day. Takoyaki too. So good. Even the convenience store onigiri were top-notch. Safe. Clean. Efficient. Yeah, Osaka livable, I guess. But crowded.

  • Osaka: Top liveability ranking Asia, 2023 Global Liveability Index
  • Infrastructure: Trains efficient but packed. Clean everywhere.
  • Healthcare: Didn’t need it, thankfully. Saw lots of hospitals. Looked modern.
  • Cost of living: High, especially for imported goods. Food reasonable.
  • Singapore/Tokyo: Also top-ranked. Been there before. Similar vibes. Expensive.

My hotel? Business Hotel Nishi Umeda. Small room, but who cares? I was out exploring. Dotonbori all lit up. Crazy. Glico Running Man. Touristy, but cool. Walked everywhere. So much to see. Osaka Castle. Umeda Sky Building. Even went to Nara to see the deer. Day trip. Worth it. Cute deer. Aggressive, though. Stole my senbei. No joke.

What is the cleanest place to live in Asia?

Ugh, Singapore. Clean, yeah. Sterile, almost. Remember that time, 2024, landed Changi, smacked in the face by how…organized it all was. Everything gleaming. Weird. Felt like living in a hospital, kinda. Jaywalking? Forget it. So clean, you could eat off the sidewalks, though I didn’t try. Crazy expensive. Hawker centers, though. Amazing. Best street food. Satay, chili crab. So good. But the cleanliness… oppressive, sometimes. Different. Not my thing, maybe. Hot too. So humid. Remember sweating buckets just walking from the MRT to my hotel, the Marina Bay Sands, that one. Pricey, yes, but the view… wow. Infinity pool. Instagram heaven. So clean it squeaked. Still… not really lived there, just visited. Few days. Business trip. Work stuff. Clean, yes, but…soul-less? Idk.

  • Singapore: Cleanest in Asia, 2024 Numbeo Pollution Index.
  • Changi Airport: Spotless. Seriously.
  • Hawker Centers: Amazing food, cheap, even in squeaky-clean Singapore.
  • Marina Bay Sands: Expensive, but that view…
  • Hot and Humid: Pack light clothes. Seriously.
  • Expensive: Budget accordingly.
  • Sterile: Just my opinion.

What is the top 10 richest country in Asia?

Asia’s Moneybags: A not-so-serious rundown!

So, you want the lowdown on Asia’s fattest wallets, eh? Prepare for a delightful (and only slightly sarcastic) journey. Remember, GDP is just a number, like that age you stopped admitting to.

  • China: Duh. Like, 49%. (ish) The 800-pound panda in the room!
  • Japan: At 11ish%, keeping things polite & rich. Such grace!
  • India: Zooming up at 9%. Spice & serious cash…yum!
  • South Korea: Tech wizards at 4%. They print money. (Maybe?)
  • Indonesia: Exotic & wealthy: at 3%. My next vacation.
  • Turkey: Straddling continents, and 3% of Asia’s riches. Interesting!
  • Saudi Arabia: Oil. Nuff said, and 3% wealthy, naturally!
  • The Rest: A “mystery box” of wealth. Spooky at 17%!

Seriously, those percentages? I think my cat did the math. He’s a genius!
