Okay, so, most expensive taxi? Definitely Hanoi, hands down. Crazy expensive, those guys. I was there last year, 2023, and wow. Seriously pricey. Like, way more than Ho Chi Minh City. Totally different ball game. Much more expensive.

For getting around to Ha Long Bay though? Forget taxis. Definitely not worth it. Totally depends what you’re after, obviosly.

So yeah, Hanoi taxis are brutal. But for Ha Long Bay, a private car is the best. Unless you’re on a crazy tight budget, then the coach is fine. Or, if you’ve got time to waste, that train might be cool for the views. But Hanoi… Hanoi taxis? Expensive!

I went to Vietnam last year, 2023, beautiful place! But those taxi drivers, man, they were trying to overcharge me constantly! Hai Phong’s alright, kind of a busy port city. But Halong Bay, wow.
