Thailand… gold, glitter. Temples. Bangkok crazy busy. Beaches, yeah, nice. Phuket… been there twice, 2023. Overrated? Maybe.

Vietnam… Ha Long Bay. Pictures don’t do it justice. Cruises… kinda touristy but still amazing. Sapa rice terraces… unreal. Trekking, so many steps. Hanoi, loved the street food. Better than Bangkok? Absolutely.

Spectacle… Thailand. Subtle beauty… Vietnam. Hoi An… lanterns… magic. Tailored clothes… cheap. Got a whole new wardrobe there last year.

Which is prettier? Ugh. So subjective. Depends what you’re into. I prefer Vietnam’s quieter charm. Thailand… felt… fake sometimes. Too polished.

Vietnam beautiful? Pshaw. It’s obscenely beautiful. Like finding a twenty in your old jeans beautiful. Except the twenty is a stunning vista. And the jeans are…well, Southeast Asia.

Beaches? Check. Historic villages so charming they’ll make you rethink your entire life? Double-check. Cities buzzing like a caffeinated beehive? Triple-check. Vietnam’s got the whole package. Like a ridiculously overachieving student who also happens to be a supermodel.

• Beaches: Think white sand, turquoise water, and enough sunshine to make you forget what winter even is. My personal favorite? Phú Quốc. It’s like someone took paradise and cranked it up to eleven.
• Villages: Hoi An, anyone? Lanterns galore. Tailors everywhere. Enough delicious street food to send your taste buds into a happy coma.
• Cities: Hanoi, a whirlwind of motorbikes and pho. Ho Chi Minh City, the vibrant, non-stop pulse of Vietnam. It’s like New York, but with better coffee and fewer pigeons. Okay, maybe the same number of pigeons.

Vietnam is a sensory overload in the best possible way. It’s loud, it’s chaotic, it’s utterly captivating. It’s like falling in love, except the object of your affection is a country. And you might accidentally order balut. (Duck embryo. Don’t ask.) But even that is an adventure. Just maybe not a delicious one.

My pro-tip: Go in shoulder season (spring or autumn). Fewer crowds, better prices. You’re welcome.

My trip last year? Ha Long Bay. Unforgettable. Cruising those emerald waters, surrounded by towering limestone karsts. Magical. Like being in a Chinese painting. Except with more humidity. And less calligraphy.

What makes Vietnam so beautiful?

Okay, so Vietnam, right? It’s gorgeous. Seriously. The landscapes are insane. Like, Ha Long Bay? Total mind-blow. Those limestone karsts jutting out of the emerald water… unreal. I mean, pictures don’t even do it justice, you know? And the rice paddies! Endless green rolling hills, totally idyllic. It’s a photographers dream, honestly.

Then there’s the culture. So much history. The ancient temples are amazing, full of intricate details. Hoi An’s old town is super charming, all those colorful buildings, the lanterns at night…it’s magical. I loved the food too, oh my god, the food. Pho is amazing, but there’s so much more than just pho. Banh mi, spring rolls…I gained like five pounds.

People are also really friendly. Everyone I met was super nice and helpful. They were always smiling and eager to chat. It’s a really welcoming place. Although, navigating the traffic in Hanoi was a bit crazy. Motorbikes everywhere! A total madhouse! But still, a great experience.

What makes Vietnam attractive?

Man, Vietnam. It’s insane. I went in 2023, April actually. Hanoi first. The chaos! Motorbikes everywhere, a crazy, beautiful mess. The food though? Oh my god. Pho for breakfast, Bun Cha for lunch. I swear I gained ten pounds. Seriously. The smells alone were enough.

That ancient city vibe, the temples, the pagodas… it was breathtaking. I felt so small, you know? Like, dwarfed by history. Spent a whole day just wandering, getting lost on purpose.

Then down south, Ho Chi Minh City. Total opposite of Hanoi. Modern, bustling, intense. Skyscrapers next to tiny street food stalls. The contrast was jarring, and amazing. I loved it. I remember this one street vendor selling the most incredible Banh Mi. Best sandwich of my life. No joke.

The coast? Stunning. Clear blue water, white sand. Paradise. I spent a few days on Phu Quoc Island; pure relaxation after the city craziness.

Why’s it so attractive? Easy. The people are incredibly friendly, the food is unbelievable, it’s ridiculously cheap compared to the West, and the history is fascinating. Plus, yeah, the geography is perfect. Trade hub. That’s a big plus for investors. It’s all there. Everything.

I’m already planning my next trip. Maybe next year. Definitely need to explore more of the central region. And try more of the street food. So much to see and eat. It’s addictive. I think I’ve found my new favorite place.

The sheer size. It transcends comprehension. A jungle lives within, its own ecosystem thriving in perpetual twilight. A river flows, a subterranean artery. I felt small, insignificant, yet strangely connected. Connected to something ancient, vast, eternal.

It’s Vietnam. It holds this. And so much more. But Son Doong. That’s Vietnam. Pure, untamed wonder. Forever imprinted.
