How long to spend at Nha Trang?

Nha Trang. Three, four days. Beaches, done. Vinpearl, check. Mud, good. Eat. More days? Islands. Dive. Less? Rushed. More, bored. Unless… further out. I once spent a week kayaking north, past Doc Let. Quiet. Found a fishing village. Ate amazing grilled fish. 2024 prices, shocking. Still worth it.

• 3-4 days: Standard tourist.

• +1-2 days: Island hopping, diving. Recommended.

• >7 days: Explore beyond Nha Trang city. Go north or south.

• Beaches: Tran Phu main beach. Overcrowded sometimes.

• Vinpearl: Cable car. Amusement park. Aquarium. Needs a full day.

• Mud baths: I-Resort, Thap Ba. Touristy, but fun. Thap Ba is cheaper, local feel.

• Food: Seafood. Lac Canh beef rice noodles. Banh canh cha ca. Street food.

• Islands: Boat tours. Snorkeling, diving. Check the weather. June to September, rough seas.

• Beyond Nha Trang: Doc Let beach. Ninh Hoa. Jungle hikes. Waterfalls. Rent a motorbike.

How many nights to stay in Nha Trang?

Three days. It’s probably enough. Nha Trang… it holds memories.

The sea, I remember the sea. And the taste of banh xeo from that one stall. It was always raining when I was there.

Why three days? I don’t know. Feels right, I guess. Three days of escaping.

• Reason 1: Time. Work, always work. Cant just disappear forever.
• Reason 2: Money. Hotels by the beach arent cheap. Every little bit counts.
• Reason 3: Memories. Too long, and the memories fade into the present.

Was it 2018 when I went? No, 2022, I think. God, time flies, huh? I went alone. Needed it.

Did I see the Long Son Pagoda? Yeah, sure, I saw it. Didnt really see it, though. You know? My grandfather would have loved it. He passed away in May.

Three days is a good amount to just… be. Three days to forget. Maybe I will go again sometime soon. Maybe next month.

Is it worth going to Nha Trang?

Nha Trang? Totally worth it. Went last year, June 2023. Beaches are amazing. Stayed near Tran Phu, lots of action there. Good food, cheap beer. Did the mud baths, touristy, but fun. Like, seriously fun. Four Island tour, bit rushed tho. But saw cool fish. Snorkeling good. Night market, bit of a rip off, but still cool. Oh, almost forgot, took a cooking class. Learned to make pho. Still can’t make it as well as they do, haha.

• Beaches: Super nice sand, clear water. Spent hours just chilling.
• Food: Seafood is the best. Cheap street eats, fancy restaurants, got it all.
• Mud Baths: Thap Ba Hot Springs Centre is the place. Do it.
• Four Island Tour: If you’re short on time, skip it maybe. Kinda overrated.
• Cooking Class: Lanterns Vietnamese Restaurant, learned like three dishes. Fun stuff.
• Night Market: Good for souvenirs. Haggle hard, yo.
• Tran Phu Street: Lots going on, the main drag.
• Accommodation: Found a sweet deal on Booking.com near the beach.

Traffic is crazy tho. Scooters everywhere. Learned to cross the street, close my eyes and just walk slowly, haha. Seriously, it works. Weather was great. Hot and sunny every day. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Which is best Da Nang or Nha Trang?

River walk. Promenade. Hmm. Da Nang… Marble Mountains. Love those. Nha Trang… mud baths. Touristy, but fun. Da Nang has that dragon bridge, breathes fire. Crazy. Nha Trang… islands. Boat trips. Which is better? Ugh, so subjective. Food scene Da Nang, so good. My Son Sanctuary day trip from Da Nang. Worth it. Traffic… Da Nang is getting bad now. Nha Trang always felt busy. Beaches… Nha Trang sand nicer. Da Nang waves bigger, good for surfing. Nha Trang more resorts, Da Nang more city.

Went to Vinpearl Land in Nha Trang 2023. Cable car ride. Pretty cool. Da Nang. Ba Na Hills. Golden Bridge. Also 2023. Tourist traps, both kinda. Still fun tho. Both cities hot. Like, really hot. Rainy season. Need to check that before I go back.

• South Central: Head further inland. Skip Dalat. Overrated.
• Central Highlands: Coffee’s better in Buon Ma Thuot. True story.

Don’t expect enlightenment. Expect sunburnt tourists. Expect overpriced seafood. Expect to haggle.

Then again, what did you expect? It’s Vietnam.

Which one is better, Da Nang or Nha Trang?

Ugh, Da Nang or Nha Trang? So hard! Nha Trang’s nightlife, right? Crazy loud, I bet. I prefer quieter vibes though. My friend went last year and she totally raved about the diving. She’s a total pro, though, not sure I’d be as impressed.

Da Nang… more my speed, probably. I like that mix of chill and exploring. Beautiful temples, right? I saw pics; seriously stunning. Plus, Marble Mountains! That alone clinches it for me.

Okay, so Nha Trang wins on the party scene, clearly. But Da Nang wins on the whole vibe. It feels more authentic. Nha Trang feels a little too… touristy?

• Da Nang: Marble Mountains are a must-see. Less crowded beaches, too, I think.
• Nha Trang: Amazing diving spots, they say. But, too many package tours, probably.

Seriously considering Da Nang for my next trip in 2024. My birthday is in May. I’ll need to book flights soon! Maybe I’ll even try that cooking class in Hoi An. So many things to plan. Ugh! Decisions, decisions…
