Then, Dark Cave, totally different. Ziplining, swimming in mud. Good stuff. Kayaking on the river, too, remember that, super chill. My friend Sarah, she loved that part. Took a cooking class, too, in Phong Nha town. Learned to make bánh xèo, not bad, not bad at all. Oh! Almost forgot! The motorbike ride there. Amazing views. Totally worth it.

• Transportation: Rented a motorbike, best way to see the area. Easy to get around.
• Time: 3-4 days is good. Could easliy spend more time if I wasn’t meeting my friend James in Hanoi.
• Pro-tip: Book your cave tours in advance, especially during peak season. Learned that one the hard way. Had to wait an extra day.

Two nights… felt rushed. Like I barely scratched the surface. Phong Nha… It deserves more. So much more. I need to go back.

Phong Nha… Dong Hoi… 45 kilometers. Bus… hour, maybe a bit more. Taxi… faster, obviously. Fifty minutes? My Honda took, like, 40 once. Speeding, tho. Don’t recommend. Cops everywhere now. What can you do when you come to Phong Nha – Ke Bang?

Phong Nha-Ke Bang offers incredible experiences. Seriously, it’s amazing.

Phong Nha Cave boat trip: A must-do. The scale is breathtaking; the river journey itself is an adventure. I recall the sheer size – humbling, really. It makes you feel small, insignificant, in a good way.

Paradise Cave: Majestic doesn’t even begin to cover it. The sheer size and the formations…I’m still processing the photos. It’s a visual feast. Seriously impressive stalactites and stalagmites. Think glittering canyons of rock. You’ll need several hours, easily.

Son Doong Cave: The world’s largest? Right. Okay, that’s a big deal. A truly unique expedition though, requiring advanced booking and physical fitness. It’s not for the faint of heart. I hear stories…

Dark Cave: Adventure time! Zip lines, mud baths, swimming… Expect to get dirty. Worth it. A friend went in 2023 and said it was thrilling. I’m dying to go!

Hung Thoong Cave system: A less-visited option, but equally stunning. It’s less crowded, offering a more tranquil experience. I bet the acoustics are wild in there.
